Description of Work:
As a Quality Engineer/Manager, you will play an integral role within our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) team, with a specific focus on the Engineering and Procurement phase of a desalination plant project.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance and Control: Supervise and maintain quality control processes to ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Purchasing Management: Co-manage procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and equipment.
- Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate closely with suppliers to address their needs, negotiate contracts, and manage expectations.
- Design Compliance: Ensure that engineering designs align with project requirements, codes, and quality standards.
- Budget Management: Co-Manage project budgets related to purchasing and quality assurance to ensure cost-effective project completion.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential quality and procurement-related risks and develop strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and specialists to ensure project success, meeting design specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
- Contract Adherence: Ensure project execution aligns with contractual agreements, specifications, and legal requirements.
Key Requirements:
To excel in this role as a Quality and Purchasing Engineer, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in a relevant field.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Engineering / Management and engineering within the EPC sector, with a focus on desalination plants.
- Desalination Expertise: In-depth knowledge of desalination processes, technologies, and equipment used in seawater and brackish water desalination projects.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in French as a plus.
- Purchasing and Quality Tools: Familiarity with purchasing management and quality assurance tools and methodologies.
- Client-Centric Approach: A client-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
