Description of Work:
As a Project Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) team focused on the Engineering and Procurement phase of the desalination plant.
Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and manage the engineering and procurement aspects of the desalination plant project. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of project, meeting design specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and technical professionals (core team of 10 FTE), providing direction and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Design Oversight: Oversee the engineering design process, ensuring it aligns with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Quality Assurance: Supervise and maintain quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets and resources effectively to ensure on-time and on-budget project completion.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
- Client and subcontractor Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the client and sub-contractors, addressing their needs, providing regular project updates, and managing their expectations.
- Contract Compliance: Ensure that project execution aligns with contractual agreements, specifications, and legal requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in desalination technology, incorporating best practices into project designs.
Requirements for Position:
To excel in this role as a Project Engineering Manager, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in project management and engineering within the EPC sector, with experience on desalination plants.
- Desalination Expertise: In-depth knowledge of desalination processes, technologies, and equipment used in seawater and brackish water desalination projects.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional engineering teams with a multi-national team, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, French is a plus.
- Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management software and tools to plan, monitor, and report on project progress.
- Client-Centric Approach: A client-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
